Tune in to hear Leslee Henson Rasmussen share her heart-wrenching story about the dangers of distracted driving. It will inspire attendees to Stop the Texts, Stop the Wrecks.
Leslee and her husband Dave were walking on a sidewalk in St. George when a distracted driver ran into a car, pushing that car into the Hensons. Dave was killed on impact and Leslee sustained multiple injuries, including fractures to her neck and back and over 5,000 stitches in her skull.
Instead of shrinking in defeat, Leslee committed to using her harrowing experience to make a difference. “Our family got together and decided that we were going to do something about the...cell phone use in cars,” said Leslee. She now travels the country speaking about her experience, encouraging all drivers to not drive "intexicated" and to be mindful of their surroundings. This is a story everyone needs to hear.
