The Zero Fatalities program partners are pleased to announce the Safety Summit is going virtual in 2021! The Summit will kick off on Tuesday, April 13 with engaging content, compelling keynote speakers and our awards ceremony.

In-depth workshops with subject-matter experts on topics related to engineering, enforcement, EMS and others will be available Wednesday, April 14 through Thursday, April 15 and Tuesday, April 20 through Thursday, April 22. More event details will be announced soon.

Engineering Session - Distracted Driving Study Results

Distracted driving contributes to a large number of motor vehicle crashes. UDOT recently completed a Distracted Driving Study to quantify the percentage of drivers who are operating a vehicle while distracted, determine the most prevalent types of distraction, and identify in which locations drivers are most distracted.  This session will present the study's preliminary findings, including a discussion of the most common distractions based on driver characteristics, presence of passengers, vehicle types, etc.
